In the Old Testament, that was a percentage of the first fruits. But thankfully, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ released us from the old law so that rule is no longer as important.
We recognize that tithing may be just too big of a step for some. That's why we created the Difference Maker Team as a beginning for those considering giving regularly for the first time. A Difference Maker is someone committing to take that first step towards a life of generosity and stewardship. In Mark 12:41-44, Jesus commended a widow for giving her two small coins, highlighting the importance of giving from the heart, regardless of the amount.
"You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need, and plenty left over to share with others." 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 NLT
